Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory welcomes your participation at the 22nd Target Fabrication Meeting to be held at National Security Technologies LLC (NSTech) in Nevada, March 12-16, 2017.

The topics to be discussed will cover the diverse plenitude of subjects that comprise all aspects of fabricating targets for experiments on high-power, high-energy laser and ion facilities. These include but are not limited to:

  • Cryogenic Targets
  • Component development and fabrication, assembly, and metrology
  • Handling systems
  • Layer formation and characterization
  • Capsule fabrication and properties
  • High-energy-density targets, including materials development and processing
  • Low-density materials development and metrology
  • Target assembly and metrology/characterization technologies
  • Radiological issues related to tritium and activated infrastructures
  • Containment, safety, and environmental impact
  • Tritium properties and interaction with materials
  • Industrial and biomedical applications

 

Plenary presentations will be used to introduce the topics of each session. The remaining presentations will be contributed papers. Oral presentations will be augmented by poster presentations. All sessions will be held during normal business hours for NSTech leaving the evenings free.

Presentations
We must receive your oral presentations in pdf format by close of business Friday, March 3, 2017. All presentations will be uploaded to the computer at NSTech.  No thumb drives or computers are allowed on site.

All contributed oral talks will be twenty minutes and should allow a three-minute discussion period.  Posters should fit in a space 36 inches high and 60 inches long. All presentations must be unclassified.

Contributed Abstracts
Contributed abstracts are due by Friday, December 2, 2016, and the final agenda will be posted on the conference website by January 2, 2017.

 

Papers will be published in Fusion Science and Technology.
The working language of this conference will be English.

 

Conference Registration

All non-U.S. Citizens (foreign nationals as well as permanent residents) must register and submit their information no later than close of business Monday, January 9, 2017.

Registration check in will be held Sunday evening, March 12th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at The Renaissance Las Vegas, where you will receive your NNSS site badge.  If you are unable to check in Sunday evening, you will be required to pick up your badge at the NNSS badge office.  A Welcome Reception will be provided during registration check in hours.  We encourage your cooperation in being available Sunday evening to check in and pick up your NNSS site badge.
