Targeting Ignition
Kristie Segraves, Production Integrated Product Team lead for final target assembly, with a National Ignition Campaign (NIC) cryogenic target. Kristie, one of two senior assembly technicians for NIC cryo targets, has assembled these targets since the beginning of the program and is instrumental in the Target Fabrication Team's efforts to produce the ignition target and other targets such as the "keyhole" and "convergent ablator" designs. This target reflects some relatively recent design modifications, including a larger scale (".575 scale") and a dimpled shield surrounding the hohlraum to block unconverted light.
