NIF Featured in National Geographic ‘Breakthrough’ Series

NIF inertial confinement fusion experiments were highlighted in an episode of the “Breakthough” TV series that aired in December on the National Geographic channel. In a segment titled, “Harnessing the Power of the Stars,” NIF experimental physicist Tammy Ma described NIF’s efforts to achieve the world’s first sustained fusion reaction.

The “Breakthrough” episode first aired on Dec. 6 and was repeated on Dec. 13. The full episode can be viewed online here (cable/satellite TV provider registration required).
