Benita J. Bass is the principal associate directorate resource manager for the NIF & Photon Science (NIF&PS) Directorate. As a member of the senior management team, Bass is responsible for the formulation and overall financial management activities for the principal associate directorate (PAD).

Bass, along with the NIF&PS Resource Analyst team, works with program leaders to formulate, plan, and forecast direct and indirect projects and manage DOE and Strategic Partnerships Program (SPP) funding.

Bass has more than 20 years of financial management experience, most recently as senior budget manager for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Previously, she worked at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions in program and project controls for tritium enterprise and as a principal program budget analyst at NNSA headquarters supporting the plutonium program.

Bass has a B.S. in accounting from Mississippi University for Women and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
